What is General English?

General English is our flagship program designed to take you from absolute beginner all the way to a confident, advanced English speaker. Spanning 5 progressive grades, this program systematically builds your vocabulary, grammar, speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Each grade builds directly on the previous one, ensuring solid foundations before moving forward. Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to sharpen your skills, General English has the right level for you.

Aligned with the Global Scale of English

The Global Scale of English (GSE) is a standardised, granular scale developed by Pearson — one of the world's leading education companies. It measures English proficiency on a numeric scale from 10 to 90, giving a more precise picture of a learner's ability than broad letter grades alone.

Unlike traditional frameworks that group learners into wide bands, the GSE pinpoints exactly what a learner can do at every point in their journey — from understanding simple greetings all the way to debating complex topics at near-native level.

All 5 grades in our General English program are mapped directly to the GSE scale and its equivalent CEFR levels, so you always know exactly where you stand and what you're working towards.
